Introducing you…
Cafe Owner Mitsunari Tamazawa

Born as the second son of the Tamazawa family, Mitsunari opened his coffee roaster, Coffee Tamazawa in February 2019, changing the business model from his predecessor’s futon shop.

Decorated with vintage sewing machine and safe passed down the Tamazawa family, as well as books and art reminiscent of Sydney that he resided for over 20 years, the shop welcomes customers on weekends.

Involved in the import/export business as a student, Mitsunari began his own food trading business in Australia at the age of 34. A close friend of iron chef, Yutaka Ishinabe and chef of Tetsuya’s (Sydney) and Waku Ghin (Singapore), Tetsuya Wakuda, Mitsunari has been providing food supplies to the finest restaurants of Japan and around the world for well over 30 years.

Whilst travelling extensively around Japan, Australia, Europe, North America and Asia, buying ingredients, Mitsunari also studied coffee for many years.

Hobbies include golf, surfing, travel, music and vintage collection. Although Mitsunari is reserved and quiet most of the time, he is nevertheless a people-lover.
